I found this great gem of a book to be oh so helpful! I love how Beth has taken the theory of Internal Family Systems and broke it down into an easy to follow and understandable format. I felt so much better after even my first peruse through the little book. The second time of really sitting down and reading it was filled with so many "ah-ha's" I was astounded. What a relief to understand all of those various voices that go off in my head at times. It is such a pleasure to have so many concepts I've been a bit familiar with be pulled together in a friendly, easy to read, understandable, worthwhile read. Plus great graphics to boot! I highly recommend this gem of a little book to anyone who wants to find more calmness, compassion, confidence, and clarity in their life!Product details

Inner Harmony Putting Your Self Back in Charge Based on the internal family systems IFS model of healing eBook Beth Rogerson PhD Reviews
This wonderful book can be used as a guide to journey in. To help understand and accept every part of yourself. A must read!
Excellent book. Very helpful for clients.
A superb little book that speaks a language that we can all understand. I warmly recommend this to anyone who sometimes feels their head is too full of conflicting messages. This book will help you begin to sort them out!
Very helpful book - buying it for lots of my clients to use
I am mental health therapists, and have used this with one client, who has found it very helpful. I wish it had done a little more in the way of examples, as the explanations are a little brief.
I think the IFS framework really resonates with people, but it remains slightly inaccessible for some, because of its seeming complexity. Rogerson does an excellent job of simplifying this model and providing concrete exercises and tools to get to know various parts, welcome exiles back into the fold and ultimately lead from your core self with curiosity, compassion and calmness. I highly recommend this concise, illuminating book to anyone interested in getting to know and understand themselves and their actions better and people who want to improve their relationships with themselves as well as all the people in their lives.
A friend of mine who knows Beth recommended this book to me. My approach to life doesn't typically include words like harmony, yoga, or mindfulness. They're a little too saccharine for me. On the other hand, I really wanted to stop feeling like my emotions were just happening to me and leaving me feeling helpless in their wake.
O.K. I probably won't be doing yoga anytime soon. But the idea of "internal family systems" made a lot of sense to me. Of course thinking of a group of people inside of me, aka the parts as IFS calls them, made me think of that old TV show "Herman's Head." But I saw myself in the descriptions of exiles and firefighters. Retail therapy? Guilty as charged.
Even just reading the chapter on calm helped me relax. And the chapter on self compassion changed how I think about being kind to myself when I'm having a hard time. I've found myself in a couple of stressful situations since and I did one of the breathing exercises and then followed the steps of self compassion, and found myself able to cope a lot better. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to reduce stress in their lives!
